Outcry- thousands of african refugees and migrants die at the borders of Europe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every year thousands of refugees try to flee to Europe to seek safety from persecution, economic security or just "a better life".
Since 1988 13,767 people have died along the european frontiers.
Among them 5,449 were missing in the sea.
9,806 migrants died in the Mediterranean sea, and through the Atlantic Ocean towards Spain,

Italy last week began sending migrants intercepted in international waters back to Libya without screening them for asylum first.
To date, Italy has sent more than 500 people back to Libya.
write to the Minister of Interior, urge him to readmit those migrants sent back to Libya whom the agency has identified as seeking international protection and possibly qualifying for it. They included people fleeing Somalia and Eritrea.

Call upon the Italian Government ( and all EU Governments) to guarantee access to a fair asylum procedure in Europe.
The Geneva Refugee Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights must be upheld.
Demand an end to all operations carried out by the EU border agency FRONTEX which violate human rights. FRONTEX operates on the open sea in disregard of current refugee law and human rights. In international waters and partly also in the territorial waters of the countries of origin or transit, refugee boats are pursued and driven away. Those in need of protection do not stand a chance in such a system.
Borders cannot be shut to those seeking refuge. We have to see people as individuals, as possible victims of global conflicts, If we do not take care that the global political and socio-economic situation gets better, we cannnot realistically expect people to stay in situations that we ourselves would find unbearable.
We expect from you that you will do your utmost to make sure that policies change and more tragic deaths are prevented.
